One own revelation
A series where, through photography, oil painting, ready-mades and audiovisual projection, the artist explores themes of loss, transformation and social symbolism. With the wedding dress as a common thread, she questions the symbolism of a traditional Western icon, showing an insubordinate femininity that is not limited to being seen, but claims the active visibility and protagonist of women. In the genre of the bridal portrait, she incorporates decontextualization by placing brides in abandoned environments, seeking to provoke an "estrangement" that challenges established norms of beauty and gender conventions.
The series "Impermanence", made between 2022 and 2023, explores the decay of nature and ruin to delve into themes of loss, transformation and social symbolism. Overall, it conveys a representation of a powerful female subjectivity that invites us to reflect.
“Nature is an ephemeral being that dances with the desolation of time.” - Emily Dickinson.
